SWARTS DESIGN

A left behind coaster for the beautiful server, gestural scribble formed into a landscape. Fixed on the icy sidewalk at the face transposed by snow and cement, I showed all three as they walked passed but only one was amused. As it goes, much of my experiences have been dominated by the shear unwillingness to think of myself as an artist. Unfortunately, with charcoal in hand the wooden planks go shaky at the knee, their very skin is turned into decoration by the so called anti-artist. At times nothing appears on these substrates, all while the inner visions come so frequently that the whole film strip could be ignored with another honest distraction or task. This would be fine and dandy with me if I didn’t feel the emptiness that overwhelms me when their is no new creation. So what am I supposed to do, ignore the abundant clusters of leaves that lay beneath my feet shining their bellies and backs up at me? Is my flakiness such a recompensing trait that you would rather me concentrate more on a plan that reassures me monitory gain?

Because I have done that and in fact still hold true to much of that mentality, but personally speaking I’ve lost my passion as a result. Traveling through and touching ground on both coasts like a diving seagull, wetting it’s breath and living in the places in between. I’ve gained a certain awareness to what makes a person tick and what is left when crucial elements are taking away or denied. The quiet individual can very easily be pushed around this world like a pin ball taking pictures here and there, recreating a moment with words or paint on a canvas. But unless you spell it out for people they might never have a connection to you as a person, let alone an understanding of how a conservative individual could survive in what is mostly considered a liberal field. The business approach of SWARTS DESIGN CO. will hopefully be the saving grace that provides a little stability to every endeavor. The symbols that represent this strategy are that of a proper pattern, the one which holds the top box illustrates the work in progress of a sole entrepreneur. Thankfully, practicing our chin up sport and swimming against the current has allowed us to gain perspective over the years as shown in the middle box (“the selfish era”). Though dreaming may be frowned upon, still the building blocks over shadow any negative thoughts that time spent being pensive was not valuable. The beginning organic and primal thoughts that permeate over the pergola of the first box are honest in nature and simulate a good foundation for development. Secretly, from time to time I think we should go back to this well for truth and simple salvation if only for release, never to regress.
